Zlatan Ibrahimovic has vowed to return from injury in just five months after undergoing surgery on a damaged anterior cruciate knee ligament last April, according to reports.
The Swede looked on course for a contract extension following a sensational opening campaign under Jose Mourinho until a long term knee injury sustained against Anderlecht led to the club officially relieving him of his services.
Reports have claimed, however, that the 35-year-old – who will undergo his rehabilitation process under the club’s close supervision – could be offered a short-term contract if he makes a successful return by January.
And the Daily Star Sunday has claimed that Zlatan, in response, has targeted a November return – just seven months after going under the knife.
