Robin van Persie has hailed the revealed behind his startling form at Manchester United – and it isn’t Sir Alex Ferguson.
The striker has been superb since moving north from Arsenal in a £24million deal last summer and tops the Premier League scoring charts with 18 goals for the season.
He admits it was an easy move to make as everybody at Old Trafford helped him settle in but the Dutchman singled out United coach and fellow countryman Rene Meulensteen for special praise.
‘I go into work every day whistling. From the first day, they have made me feel welcome, the boys made me feel right at home,’ said Van Persie.
‘I feel better and fitter. In the last week, I played Wednesday and Saturday. In those games I played with ease.’
