Wayne Rooney has admitted his frustration over being played in a supporting striker role under Sir Alex Ferguson last season.
Rooney, 27, reportedly handed in a transfer request near to the end of last season that was announced by Ferguson and he has now openly stated his growing frustration over playing second fiddle to Robin van Persie since the Dutchman’s arrival in the summer from Arsenal.
