Rooney out of QPR clash and Jones could miss Real Madrid return leg


Wayne Rooney will miss Manchester United’s weekend clash with QPR but is expected to be fit for the crunch Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that there was an outside chance Phil Jones would be fit for the European showdown at Old Trafford on March 5, but the club’s in house TV channel added that Rooney was facing a battle of his own.
The striker has missed much of the week’s training due to illness and won’t travel to London for the meeting with the Premier League’s bottom club.
Victory for United at Loftus Road will put them a huge 15 points clear of rivals Manchester City, who host Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
