Manchester United will be given an injury boost at the conclusion of the current international break, it is thought.
Attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard has been out of action since Man United’s humiliating penalty shoot-out defeat to Championship side Derby County.
The 25-year-old had been suffering from a slight injury since the very start of the season, when he returned to club football late due to England’s semi-final appearance in the FIFA World Cup in Russia during the summer.
Lingard has been recovering from a groin inflammation. He’s been unavailable for selection for Jose Mourinho for the last three fixtures, and Gareth Southgate had to pick his England squad without him too for matches against Spain and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
