Real Madrid have re-affirmed to Gareth Bale and his representatives that he will play a pivotal role for them next season.
Bale, a target for Manchester United, will be given the chance to take centre stage following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus.
Ronaldo moved from Madrid for £100m earlier in July, which clears the way for the Welshman to establish himself as the main man at the Bernabeu.
This appears to put paid to any possibility of a move to Manchester United.
United were prepared to significantly improve Bale’s £350,000-a-week salary and offered Madrid the £83.5m it cost to sign him from Spurs in 2013.
