Following another fantastic performance against Fulham at the weekend, Sir Alex Ferguson has heaped praise on Phil Jones for his progress so far this season.
The 20-year-old, who arrived at Old Trafford from Blackburn Rovers in 2011, has given a string of excellent performances in a United shirt since he returned from injury in late November.
Speaking with ManUtd.com, Sir Alex said: “Jones was absolutely brilliant at Tottenham in the role we asked him to play. He did it really well.
“He can play anywhere. He is quick, two-sided and reads the game well. He’s competitive and has got a great change of pace going forward so the boy has done very well.”
