Universidad de Chile striker Angelo Henriquez has reportedly travelled to Manchester for a medical with Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson has been scouting the player for a number of years and was earlier in June linked with a move for the 18-year-old. It was reported by the Mirror last night that Manchester City had stepped forward with a £4m deal for the young Chilean striker.
It is understood that Manchester United have a first refusal contract with his parent club, which was signed in 2009 and lasts until 2014. This means Manchester United would be able to purchase Henriquez for €4m, which would effectively see Manchester City left counting their losses. Henriquez does look like a good prospect for the Old Trafford club, who have a continued success rate at developing youth.
